Competition – How to know

Competition is competing against oneself whether the ego will let self see it or not…therefore, bad sportsmanship exemplifies the ego against itself and all its faults…good sportsmanship accepts that for today the best was the best….center reflects enjoyment/thankfulness of the competition for all that it is.

I’m looking forward to a great 2010! 

I’ve heard that from nearly everyone I’ve gotten email from, talked to and seen on FB.  The excitement in the air about 2010 is palpable. 

I can’t remember when …well, yes I can, I think many people were so worried about Y2K and working their butts off in 1999 to prevent “the unspeakable horrors” the clock turning to 2000 could bring that everyone was looking forward to the “end” of what nightmares COULD happen. 

Maybe that was the start of all this doom and end of the world talk that seems to dominate everything these days.  It is (of course) at the movies, in the news, on all my favorite channels, History, Discovery, Science; whether they are talking about Nostradamus, the Holy Bible, the Mayan calendar or other forseers they want to use to prove the “disaster looming” point. 

The positive lesson to take from all this is … MAYBE…  all we have is today.

Today is the PRESENT so maybe we should treat it like a GIFT and ENJOY!

Escape and Release Your Gifts!

Please don’t be so hard on yourself, others aren’t (at least people that really matter)!

Most of us struggle with self-consciousness issues. We can’t let that stop us!

I could name several people (who aren’t so nice) that are successful and put themselves out there all the time on TV and film. And then there are really nice people who give uplifting information and try to help (aka Oprah, if that end of the spectrum helps).

Those who know us know what we look like and still like or love us for the people we ARE!

Look at everyone around you that speaks well of you. bending over backwards to do so at times.  There is a large positive ripple effect there, why not be the stone that causes the ripple.

If all anyone cared about was what a person looked like then yikes, we’d all be like Hollywood…ick…what a depressing world that would be.  Picking each other apart instead of building each other up or working together.

Focus and capitalize on your strengths and forget about (what you perceive as) weaknesses…everyone wins that way! Why? You win and the people around you win because you share with them your gifts instead of coddling them in self-consciousness.

For Terror or Worse…

I don’t mind someone running my name through a computer to see if I’m a terrorist…a murderer… or anything else illegal…unless…it is illegal to speak out about something…long pause

But after reports that Google and many other search engines keep all data and searches… Facebook wanting to keep all my information even if I delete my stuff…Facebook actually deleting an unfavorable comment I made last week….finding those New World Order videos just the other day (out of the blue…NOT looking for them), the constant yakity yak about globalization and now a benign referral to this video…it really makes one pause and wonder…

WHERE EXACTLY ARE WE HEADED?

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE tech!  I think this is remarkable technology and can be used to all kinds of good.  If only we could trust one another, ah yes, the ever elusive Utopia.

Databases…data being held about you from the time of your birth, where you are, etc. have been in existence for a long time…HOWEVER…it is getting easier, more people are selling their “proverbial souls” for the love and greed of money or power… AND (it is a big and too) “we the people” are sleeping…soundly, passively in our peaceful little worlds…it has happened before… more than once… recently… I pray it doesn’t happen again.  Then I realize I live in reality.

I’m truly not trying to be a fear-monger, the media does that well enough.  However, it isn’t like I’m out there looking for this stuff.   It comes to me, I share what I believe I’m to share.  Peace, love and joy to you.

Instincts

 

AND NOW…FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!

It puzzles me that so many great minds of the last century (and many now) think we can decode the cosmos and laws of nature.  They seem to think, if it can’t be defined by physics or the “sciences” then by jingies it just CAN’T be.  NOOOO, we sure can’t disect those touchie, feelie things.  We’ve got to hold those things back with a ten foot pole because that can’t possibly be where our evolution is taking us. 

***LONG PAUSE***  😉

Such smart, unopened minds that won’t allow room for God, spirit or being “in tune” with one another…call me a flake, I think they aren’t as smart as they think they are!  We are connected by God, instincts, our souls, mystical awareness or what ever one would call it.  I believe it is real and can be found by anyone seeking to connect.  After all we still except the deep rooted, “fight or flight” instinct, few would dispute we have survival instincts, however many doubt and nullify our spirit, unconditional love, telepathy or psychic ability altogether.  

It is as if we all must first experience something to believe or fully understand. 

Learning to have faith, learning to trust God and our “instincts” and the patience to withstand the wait of when we get to know the answers takes real faith.  To me, real faith means doing something that you believe God wants you to do or you are supposed to do even when you are scared, tired, lazy, depressed, lack funds, are doubtful,  are distracted, afraid it looks/sounds strange to others, worried about how others judge you, when it is difficult.

Hope you all know I write these for myself, sorry to be so selfish but I’m sharing hoping it will help you.  Many times this is how God “talks” to me.  Even if I can’t understand it right now, maybe I will when He needs me to do so.

THANKS and by the way…

First, thanks to all of you who’ve been keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.  I really feel them in my heart and soul.  THANK YOU for them.  I really do sit in thoughtful prayer for you as well.  I’m a big giver so when I receive I tend to give back even more.  Your continued thoughts and prayers of support are very appreciated.  As we know more of the details I’ll share them.  Right now we are in a holding pattern but circling the airport.  ha!

I have several things that are pressing, several things that must come out, I’m compelled.

I’ve done a dozen or so posts on autism.  I think highly of so many bloggers who are autistic or parents of autistic children.  I respect them, their view of things, their frustration of things, their joy of things, their need to help others understand, agree, being able to learn and grow.  Just knowing how nice it is to reach out to each other when needed is a wonderful thing. 

In this age of “bi-polar-isms” I refuse to define my precious, sweet son by autism, nor will I.  He is smart, loving, handsome like his dad (of course), very tall, a reader, into astrology, a thinker, a dreamer, he hums happy tunes, still likes to skip (me too…like Phoebe from friends), likes routine (like his dad), sounds just like his brother (vice-versa) when he talks, has an amazing memory, adores his third grade teacher, can easily entertain himself, becomes deeply involved with things he enjoys, can’t concentrate on things he doesn’t and more, more, more.

So what am I getting at???  I’ve been holding my son’s story close (odd because I share so easily) but I’m nervous it will define him.  Or WORSE, that HE thinks that is how I define HIM.

God has been pushing gently at me from many directions and I had my AHA moment this morning, NO FEAR.  I now know I’m to post it, I’m compelled to post it.  In faith I will post it and pray that it reaches those that it is supposed to reach and help.  In faith I will post it believing that my son will KNOW that autism is only a small sliver of who he is, something to help him in his life’s journey and that I love him more than words.  Amen.  Thank you God for love, mercy, all things seen and unseen.

 

The Outcry for CHANGE!

FightingWindmills turned me on to a post at CheeseSlave.

After reading through I just had to ask some questions of us all:

I’ve read something like this on more than a few topics and not just about Monsanto (see the open letter to Hillary at Cheeseslave).

Cheeseslave says “I’ll have to learn more about Obama but I have a sense that he is the latest Prius they are trying to roll out to keep us in the dark.”

Cheese, you are right about this.  It is all a smoke screen.  This open letter is just the TIP of a huge iceberg on so many things it makes my stomach churn.

Deb, you are right about the FDA.  Pressure for drugs to make us live forever, you know.  **wink, wink, nudge, nudge**

And there is NO truth in advertising anymore…okay, there is half truth in advertising, leaving out critical information that could steer you to um, EATING YOUR VEGIES or a VITAMIN deficiency…and away from their product du jour.

I could go on and on about what is wrong because there is so much.  Unfortunately ONE PERSON (a new president) isn’t going to fix it all. 

It has to be a huge change across our nation, it has to be an outcry so long and so loud from millions upon millions before the kind of change needed is going to happen.  A wave of change has started, it needs nurturing and growth.  So that 4 to 8 years (or even 12) from now the people who caught the wave can be in positions (legislative, judicial) to support and uphold the changes that NEED to be made in the STATES and in FEDERAL governments. 

That is a lot of people needed to ride the wave much less keep the energy of the wave high…is it YOU?  Are you willing to commit to politics, start in your community, local, state levels?  Holding offices of change in your area?  Are you willing to get into politics at the state or national level to support a person in a presidency that will need the support to really change things? 

A president can’t do it alone.  Are you willing?

I’m asking these questions thoughtfully…not antagonistically.

This is the perception of understanding that I insure through my persistance to love others through my inclusion and fellowship with all because they are equal to me through love.

Do you hear what I hear?  Do you see what I see?  Do you know what I know?

LOVE is the cornerstone.

Good, Bad or In-Between?

In the media world (which I’m convinced is a separate world/universe from what we live in) things are so polarized that learning about life from them would be quite horrific and unrealistic. 

Seldom is there the taste of the greatness of everyday living or the beauty and majesty we behold every morning when we wake.  Most of us live in-between lives, not first, not last, not richest, not poorest, not prettiest, not ugliest, not meanest, not nicest, not unfair, not fair, not always, not never…just IN-BETWEEN.

Count me being happy with the IN-BETWEEN life I have, with my in-between family, my in-between friends and my in-between community.

By the way, my new found test taking place (strictly for fun) tells me I am IN-BETWEEN:

Sweet Mystery of Life

About a month ago I was cleaning out some papers and cards and found a yellow sticky with a doodle (pictured) I’d done right around the time I got married.  I remember coming up with this which reminded me of Hungry Hubby (figure left) and me (figure right).  Did I mention we met through dancing?  I remember thinking at that time it would be a great symbol for letterhead or a company if we ever started one.  You know all those things you dream about when the future is so bright you need shades. 

So for more than 11 years and six moves I’ve hung on to this little yellow sticky with a symbol of me and he.  I find it and pull it out and stick it up on my desktop to look and think about why I still have it and if I want to keep it.   

I’m looking at it and I start seeing things.  I saw a J, which happens to be the first letter of Hungry Hubby’s given name.  I saw a C which happens to be the first letter of Young Son’s given name.  I saw an A which happens to be the first letter of Big Boy’s given name.  Big Boy looks more like Hungry Hubby and the larger portion of the A is on the J side.  Young Son looks like Big Boy with some of my looks and the C hangs off the A with a small curve at the top (which is my side of the symbol).  I also see the first letter of our last name. 

HUH?  I know, I know, I can still hardly believe it myself.  I’m a bit dumbfounded by this.   

Will someone PLEASE tell me what happened here?  Is it precognition?  Pattern recognition?  Spiritual discernment?  Reaffirmation?  A sign?  Coincidence?  What? How could this have happened?  How could I have held on to something like this for so long?  What made me pull it out to look at NOW?

Anyone?  Anyone?

Whatever it takes…

From a “Think Tank” with LOVE

I’d like to know who pays these think tank  people and how much they get paid…because DUH! (Please refer to the link to read their newest LOVE letter to us). 

First we all know that the climate, weather, Mother Earth…she is a changin’ and HELLO…always has and always will be whether we are here to measure it or not. 

For some really ODD reason we humans think we can change things and ONLY good will come of it.  The recent Georgia/Florida lack of water saga has gone on for years and reminds us to divert thy neighbor’s water so thou shalt keep animal species from extinction!  Then there are the years we have too many big snows or too much rain **big sigh** we are just too busy now to let things like hurricanes, droughts, wild fires, earth quakes or any other force of nature get in our way of commerce, fun or trying to fix Britney!!!

Some where along the way we’ve figured we are SMARTER than mother nature and need to “save” everything, preserve every animal, dig up every bone fragment, keep rivers in line, fix the beaches; or change it to suit us by building anything we can engineer ANYWHERE we want and there is absolutely no ying for the yang. 

Hey, Chicken Little, is the sky REALLY falling?  Or have we been so busy making our way in the human fight for survival that we forgot that everything we’ve ever done on earth has had an impact on us as much as we’ve had an impact on it.  The seas rise and they fall, there have been ice ages before and there will be again (even after the next celestial body smashes into earth). 

Do we really know enough about the cycle of life to know which species should live and which should die?  I thought that was nature’s job or the Creator’s job, ya know, someone important like that.

Mother Earth won’t be putting up with all that AND a bag of chips!  She’s been squashing the chips for quite some time and will continue until the balance is in HER favor. 

Just hope I’m not one of the chips she wants to squash!
